Considering SPRAVATO or TMS instead?

Both treatments run through our Fast-Track Care lane first appointment with Dr. Zubairi in 2–3 days.

What we treat

Conditions we care for across all ages.

Every condition below is treated for children, teens, and adults  same clinical team, age-appropriate approach. Click any condition to learn more about how we work with it.

01

Depression

Major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder, postpartum depression, and seasonal patterns. We evaluate the full picture biological, psychological, and social and build a treatment plan that combines medication management, therapy referral, and lifestyle strategies. For depression that hasn't responded to two or more medications, we offer SPRAVATO and TMS as next-step options.

02

Anxiety

Generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias, and health-related anxiety. Our approach pairs careful medication choices (often non-habit-forming first-line options) with referrals to evidence-based therapy typically CBT for sustainable management. We treat both adult onset and childhood/adolescent anxiety presentations.

03

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar I, bipolar II, and cyclothymic presentations across age groups. Accurate diagnosis matters more here than almost anywhere in psychiatry we take time to differentiate from unipolar depression, borderline personality patterns, and ADHD. Treatment is mood-stabilizer-led with careful attention to long-term safety monitoring.

04

ADHD / ADD

Comprehensive evaluation for ADHD in children, teens, and adults including the often-missed inattentive presentation in girls and women. We rule out look-alike conditions (anxiety, sleep disorders, trauma) before treating, and we're direct about both the benefits and the considerations of stimulant medication. Non-stimulant options also available.

05

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

OCD across the lifespan including pediatric OCD, contamination subtypes, harm OCD, scrupulosity, and "pure-O" presentations. Medication treatment is paired with referral to evidence-based therapy (typically ERP Exposure and Response Prevention), which is the clinical gold standard. We coordinate with your therapist throughout.

06

Perinatal Mental Health

Care during pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition to parenthood. This includes perinatal depression, perinatal anxiety, postpartum OCD, and medication decisions during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We work closely with your OB-GYN, pediatrician, and primary care to coordinate care during a sensitive period.

Common questions

Before your first visit.

For most plans, no you can request an appointment directly. Some HMO plans require a referral from your primary care physician for specialist visits. When you call, we'll confirm whether your specific plan needs one.

Yes, when clinically appropriate. We follow Michigan PMP requirements and best-practice guidelines around controlled substances. We're conservative about long-term benzodiazepines and direct about why we'll discuss this at the first visit if it applies to you.

Yes. Dr. Zubairi is double board-certified in both Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. For initial evaluations of patients under 18, we typically meet with parent and patient together for the first portion, then with the patient alone, then both together.

Yes for adults. For children and adolescents, we strongly prefer the initial evaluation in person it improves the diagnostic process. Follow-ups can be telehealth thereafter at the patient's preference.

With your written consent, we communicate directly with your therapist sharing diagnostic impressions, medication choices, and treatment progress. This is the norm for us, not the exception. If you don't have a therapist and need one, we can refer.

Both are offered here with the same clinical team you're already seeing. If we determine during your care that you'd benefit from SPRAVATO or TMS, we move you into the Fast-Track lane first appointment within 2–3 days of the decision.
